Frequently Asked Questions.
|
How do we obtain an estimate? After you
have contacted us we will arrange for our Sales Manager
to visit you at your convenience. He will discuss your
plans, offer advice and measure up. We have a very
flexible approach so can offer you a personalised
service. A written estimate will be posted to you and
then it's up to you whether you accept or not. You are
under no obligation at this stage. |
|
Do we need planning permission?
Most of our work does not require planning permission,
however if it is necessary we use a trusted and
recommended surveyor who can arrange it for you and draw
up any plans which need to be submitted. We can also
arrange for a building regulation notice should a
property require it. |
|
What happens to existing plasterwork/brickwork after the
windows are fitted?
All of our work is finished to a high standard.
Plastering and brickwork is corrected around
windows/doors etc. |
|
What happens if we have asbestos?
We can remove the asbestos from your house and arrange
for a specialist firm to dispose of it. There will be a
fee for this. |
|
What happens to the old windows?
All waste is disposed of according to the regulations.
A skip will be arranged by us if necessary. |
|

We always use Pilkington K glass as standard, and safety glass in
'critical areas' as shown by the shaded areas in the table below:

|
Will we need scaffolding? That
will be discussed when we carry out your estimate.
The teams carry easi-dec scaffolding on our vans but if
full scaffolding is required the price will normally be
given at the time of the estimate. |
|
How long will we have to wait
until work can start? We usually operate on a 6-8
weeks lead time. This can vary due to weather conditions
etc. We always give you a few days notice before work
starts. |
|
What can we expect once the job
starts? You will be informed of which team will do
your fitting. They aim to be on site before 9am. Dust
sheets are always used and we will leave the
property clean and tidy once we have finished. All
rubbish is removed from the site and disposed of as per
our environmental regulations. |
|
What insurance cover do you have?
We are members of the
Plastics
Window Federation which carries a comprehensive
insurance policy. The work is insured for 10 years
(excluding accidental damage). This will also cover the customer in the unlikely event that the
company has to cease trading. Any deposit monies paid are also
covered. |

sustainable sources? Yes, all our timber products come
from properly managed, sustainable forests. |
